Our journey started back in 2013 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Before launching our first fund in 2020, we were focused on building up the LatAm startup scene for over six years:

• Running our own angel investor network: Connecting 20+ founders (like Yo te presto) with their first angel investors across Latin America, and being founding members of Xcala.

• Hosting 5 incubation and acceleration programs: We guided over 65 startups on their early paths.

• Organizing 15+ workshops and learning events: These brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs and investors, plus over a dozen networking events with Endeavor Guadalajara.

We were (and still are) constantly out there – mentoring, judging, and speaking at countless startup events and VC summits across Mexico, the US, and LatAm.

All that groundwork led to the launch of Carabela's ~$4M Fund I in February 2020. We've invested in incredible founders from 16 pre-seed and seed startups across six Latin American countries and 11 sectors, actively boosting the region's dynamic ecosystem.

 

Now, with our management team and partners, we're super excited about Carabela's future with Fund II. Our mission is simple: back amazing Latin American tech founders, give them the capital and hands-on support they need, and connect them with our robust network; to help shape the future of entrepreneurship in the region.
